Kicker reports that RB Leipzig are looking to extend the contracts of both David Raum and goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
Talk of contract extensions at the Red Bull Arena began earlier this week when it was reported that the club wants to tie Raum down beyond 2027 and remove the release clause that was said to be worth €50m, but the fee has now been reduced, reports Sport Bild.
Earlier this summer, Raum was appointed Leipzig captain.
A surprise for Leipzig this season has been Gulacsi keeping his number one position over Maarten Vandevoordt. The 35-year-old’s contract expires next summer, and now the club are looking to extend his contract. Talks over a potential extension will begin in the coming months.
Considering that in the summer, Gulacsi was considered expendable, Leipzig could potentially look to lower the Hungarian’s salary.
Leipzig’s busy summer:
Over the transfer window, the Red Bull side has gone through a refresh with the departures of attacking trio Loïs Openda, Benjamin Seško and Xavi Simons. In their place has arrived a fresh crop of players in Conrad Harder, Romulo, Johan Bakayoko and Yan Diomande.
Keeping both Raum and Gulacsi at the Red Bull Arena would provide much-needed experience to help bridge the gap between these different eras of Red Bull.
