Fabrizio Romano reports that RB Leipzig are closing in on the signing of Sporting’s Danish striker Conrad Harder.
Sky Germany reports that Leipzig have made an offer for Harder worth just over €20m, but Sporting has not yet accepted it. The Bundesliga side have, however, reached a personal agreement with the striker.
AC Milan had offered more money for Harder and had shown strong interest in the 20-year-old, but Leipzig are on the verge of hijacking the move.
The reason for Leipzig’s pursuit of Harder is that Juventus are beginning to show interest in Loïs Openda. If the price is right, then Leipzig will be open to selling the Belgian. The valuation of the striker is said to be around €40m.
With the sales of Xavi Simons and Benjamin Seško this summer, along with the potential departure of Loïs Openda, this would suggest a total reset for Leipzig and the end of the current ‘project’ at the club. This would also mean that Leipzig’s new look attack would comprise of Antonio Nusa, Johan Bakayoko, Yan Diomande, Romulo and Harder.
