Foot Mercato and RMC Sport are reporting that Marquinhos (28) is set to start for Paris Saint-Germain tonight against Bayern Munich, despite continuing to feel pain from an injury sustained over the weekend.
The PSG captain suffered an intercostal tear during Les Parisien’s 4-2 victory over FC Nantes on injury and was forced to be withdrawn from the fixture. There was hope that Maqrquinhos would be fit to face Bayern Munich in tonight’s Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich. However, as was reported by L’Équipe earlier, the Brazilian woke up this morning and is still feeling pain in his rib cage.
But this ongoing pain doesn’t look set to jeopardise his starting position in the heart of the PSG defence. RMC Sport and Foot Mercato are both reporting that Marquinhos is set to start the match. However, he will be closely supervised by the PSG medical staff, and should he not be able to start, he will be replaced by Nordi Mukiele (25), who was also forced to withdraw from Saturday’s victory over Les Canaris.
