PSG suspend women’s coach Didier Ollé-Nicole over alleged “inappropriate behaviour”

Paris Saint-Germain have tonight released a statement indicating that women’s team coach Didier Ollé-Nicole had been suspended over alleged “inappropriate behaviour and remarks”.

RMC Sport reported earlier today that he had made an “inappropriate gesture” towards one of his players and was the subject of an internal club investigation earlier this season.

The story was initially broken by Romain Molina, and consists of behaviour on the part of the manager towards a player during the team’s pre-season tour in the USA last summer.

The club opened an investigation and interviewed witnesses, after which the case led to no sanctions, with the agreement of the player’s entourage. Ollé-Nicole apologised to his squad on returning from the tour, and was spoken to by the club’s management over his behaviour.

Today, the club proceeded to interview players and members of staff to see if there were any further incidents since. The manager himself will be spoken to by human resources in the coming hours.

The judiciary police are also now involved, and have questioned the player, her family, and club members. RMC Sport add that several days before the alleged events, the manager had also make “inappropriate remarks” to the player.

Ollé-Nicole and his staff had spoken to the squad today, ahead of their title-deciding match against Lyon on Sunday. A win for the Champions League winners or a draw will see Lyon reclaim their domestic title.
