Paris Saint-Germain are expanding their search for a centre-back. Leeds United’s Diego Llorente (30) is an option that continues to be explored, but concurrently, PSG have also enquired about West Ham United’s Nayet Aguerd (27) and Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix (23), according to L’Équipe.
PSG have been forced into a move for a centre-back due to an injury to Milan Skriniar. The former Inter Milan defender suffered an ankle injury during Les Parisiens’ triumph over Toulouse FC earlier this month. The ankle injury sustained has required surgery, which could rule him out for the rest of the season.
With other sectors also targeted for strengthening, PSG’s budget to spend on a centre-back is relatively meagre by the club’s standards. As a result, long-term targets such as Jean-Clair Todibo and Lény Yoro are out of reach for now, whilst a move for David Hancko has also been considered too expensive.
However, as well as Llorente, currently on loan at AS Roma from Leeds United, PSG have enquired about the availability of Aguerd, who was also on the shortlist at Olympique Lyonnais, and Lacroix, who according to Foot Mercato, has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.
