According to Sports Zone, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has sounded out the possibility of bringing Al-Ittihad’s Karim Benzema (36) to the club this January.
Benzema’s future in Saudi Arabia has been called into question in recent weeks. The former Real Madrid striker has been heavily criticised by the media in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and fans of Al-Ittihad. Fans of the Saudi Pro League club have nicknamed the former Lyon forward “kitty”, according to RMC Sport.
Campos dubious of move for Benzema
However, despite this, Foot Mercato, have reported that Benzema is unlikely to leave the Gulf State any time soon. Al-Khelaifi did, nonetheless, look into the possibility of bringing Benzema to the Parc des Princes on a six-month loan deal. Sporting consultant Luís Campos is dubious of the move, according to Sports Zone.
For now, it is unlikely that Les Parisiens will push to bring Benzema to the club. The focus is on other areas. Notably. PSG are looking to sign a centre-back in the wake of Milan Skriniar’s potentially season-ending injury, whilst Campos is also reportedly keen to strengthen in midfield. Whilst it is a move that has been considered by the upper echelons of the club, former Olympique Lyonnais striker Benzema looks unlikely to arrive at the Parc des Princes this month.
