Chelsea manager Graham Potter is eager for Christian Pulisic to be a success at Stamford Bridge, says journalist Dean Jones.
The 24-year-old winger has recently been linked with a move away from the club, but it appears that his boss wants him to remain in west London.
Why has there been talk about Pulisic potentially leaving Chelsea?
Since joining Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in a £58m deal (via BBC Sport), Pulisic has been in and out their team.
This season, the American has not even made five starts in the top flight. As for the previous Premier League campaign, he was only named in Thomas Tuchel’s first XI on 13 occasions, though he did miss a chunk of games because of injury.
With Pulisic not being a regular starter at Chelsea, there is now talk that he could depart Potter’s side in January.
According to one report, he is not currently happy with life at Stamford Bridge and that is something Newcastle United could try and take advantage of once the transfer window is open.

What has Jones said about Potter, Pulisic and Chelsea?
Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Potter wants things to work out for Pulisic at Chelsea.
Speaking to GMS about the ex-Dortmund star’s future, the journalist said: “I think it really depends on how Pulisic’s next couple of months pan out, both with Chelsea and at the World Cup, to be honest.
“We’ve seen a good performance from him recently under Graham Potter, and I’m told that Graham Potter would love this to work out and for him to be able to turn around his fortunes at Chelsea. But ultimately, Pulisic can’t wait around that long for that to happen.”

What would Potter lose if Pulisic does leave Chelsea?
An attacker who can be quite dangerous on his day. When Pulisic is at his best, the USA international is capable of finding the back of the net.
In his senior career so far, Pulisic has scored 45 goals, with 11 of those coming during his first season at Chelsea. Given that he does not always get a consistent run of games, which is sometimes due to injury, those numbers are not the worst.
Of course, the Blues need better if they want to win the Premier League title, but it shows that he can make a significant contribution in attack.
Pulisic is also a pretty good dribbler, recording 1.6 dribbles per game in Chelsea’s successful 2020/21 Champions League campaign (via WhoScored). N’Golo Kante was the only player to average more (1.8) in their squad.
It is not hard, then, to see why Potter wants to keep him around, but it is going to be difficult to do that if he is not given more starts.
