Germany qualified for the Elite Round of the U19 Euros qualifiers. Christian Wörns’ side beat Armenia (7-0), Kosovo (5-0), and Norway (2-1) in the space of six days. They will now await the draw for the next round of the qualifiers.

Francis Onyeka, who is plying his trade at VfL Bochum on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, scored a brace in all three encounters. Including both goals in today’s narrow win over Norway, the U19 captain converted three penalties. The Madrid-born striker Alessandro Gaul Souza contributed three goals from the remaining eight.

UEFA follow a similar format to the U17 Euros qualifiers with the seven group winners of the Elite Round joining hosts Wales in next summer’s tournament. Norway were the hosts of Germany’s group, and they progressed to the final round as a runner-up.

While most of the qualifiers scheduled to be played next month, Germany U19 will play friendlies against the youth teams of Wales, Japan, and the USA during November’s international break.
