Mattia Viti (23) is set for a third consecutive loan spell in Italy. As per a report from L’Équipe, the OGC Nice centre-back is set for a season-long loan at Fiorentina.
Viti joined Nice from Empoli for a €13m fee back in 2022, however, since making the move to the Riviera, he has played just 12 games, all of which came during a difficult debut campaign at the Allianz Riviera. The following season, he was loaned out to Sassuolo, and he then spent last season on loan at his former club, Empoli.
Whilst the move to his formative club will not be made permanent, the Italy U21 international is not expected to return to Nice this summer. L’Équipe understands that he will be sent out on loan to Fiorentina. A deal in principle has been agreed, which also includes a purchase option worth over €4.5m. Le Gym have also negotiated a percentage of a future sale.
