French midfielder Enzo Le Fée (24) has officially left Rennes to join Serie A side AS Roma, both clubs have announced this Wednesday. On Sunday, Stade Rennais and Roma struck a €23m agreement for the transfer of the gifted midfielder from the Roazhon Park to the Stadio Olimpico. The Ligue 1 side were adamant Enzo Le Fée’s mind was set up on joining Daniele De Rossi’s side after agreeing on personal terms over a five-year contract.
Rennes refused two bids from Roma to manage to recoup more of the €20m they paid Lorient last summer to acquire Enzo Le Fée’s services. The midfielder played 35 times for his first and ultimately only season at Rennes. His season was disrupted by injuries but he managed to show glimpses of his talent.
Enzo Le Fée is the fifth Rennes player to leave the Brittany club this summer transfer window after Jeanuël Belocian (Bayer Leverkusen), Fabian Rieder (Vfb Stuttgart), Alfred Gomis (Palermo) and Matthis Abline (Nantes). Rennes are expected to bolster their midfield options with the expected signing of Bodø/Glimt’s midfielder Albert Grønbæk (23).
