Racing Club de Strasbourg have announced the signing of Felix Lemaréchal (21) from AS Monaco. The 21-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper over a five-year contract with the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 club. Les Alsaciens‘ outlay for the versatile Lemaréchal reportedly rises to €8m, according to L’Equipe. The AS Monaco youth product was loaned in the past two seasons, first to Ligue 1 rivals Stade Brestois 29 and then to Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge, the latter are owned by Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev.
Lemaréchal played an important part in Cercle Brugge’s season, logging two goals and five assists in 32 appearances for the Groen-Zwart. Lemaréchal spent the preseason with Adi Hütter’s AS Monaco side and took part in friendly games before committing to Strasbourg. He will wear the #6 jersey with Liam Rosenior’s Ligue 1 club. Strasbourg will kick off their Ligue 1 campaign away at Montpellier this Sunday.
