Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Mainz centre-back Moussa Niakhaté appers to have hit a snag.
According to a report from Sky Germany, the newly-promoted Premier League side had an opening bid understood to be “far below” €10 million rejected.
The report adds that Mainz thought that Forest’s opening bid was “ridiculous” and that the Bundesliga club don’t want to continue the talks.
It’s been reported that Mainz are demanding at least €15 million for their sought-after captain, who has one year left on his contract.
