Nottingham Forest eye move for Matty Cash return

Nottingham Forest are looking into a possible deal to re-sign Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash, according to a report from The Athletic.

Forest will be playing in the Europa League this season and are determined to build a stronger squad for the challenges ahead.

The club are aware of the demands of competing in Europe alongside their domestic campaign.

Forest are considering strengthening the right-back position

The Polish international is seen as a valuable option due to his defensive qualities and previous experience with Forest.

Cash played 141 matches for Forest before leaving in 2020. He scored 13 goals and assisted 14 times, becoming a key figure during his time at the club.

Although Forest have a strong interest, Villa are yet to receive an official bid. Cash signed his current contract in April 2022, which ties him to the Birmingham club until 2027.

His performances have helped Aston Villa secure a Champions League place, with the team finishing fourth in the Premier League last season.

A potential return to Nottingham would not only boost Forest’s squad depth but also reunite the defender with the club where his professional journey began.
