Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Bilal El Khannouss, who is playing for VfB Stuttgart on loan from Leicester City.
According to Athletic, the 21-year-old has “featured during internal conversations” at the Premier League side.
El Khannouss has established himself as an important player for Stuttgart since making the move on loan and is expected to join the Swabians on a permanent basis.
According to reports, the loan deal includes a purchase option that is likely to become an obligation.
Sky Germany reported in August that the fee would be €25 million, including add-ons, if the option is triggered, while Bild cited an €18 million fee plus bonuses in October.
Apparently, El Khannouss is not Newcastle’s only Bundesliga target, with The Athletic also mentioning Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel as a player The Magpies are interested in.
