An out-of-favour member of the goalkeeper ranks at Barcelona is attracting sudden interest by way of La Liga rivals Girona.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Iñaki Peña as the player in question.
It has of course long been speculated in the media that shot-stopper Peña will be on the move before the summer is out.
This comes with the arrival of Joan García in Hansi Flick’s squad having culminated in the 26-year-old slipping ever further down the pecking order between the posts.
A whole host of clubs across Spain and beyond, in turn, have been credited with an interest in Peña’s services.
And as alluded to above, this week, a new suitor is understood to have emerged…
As per a report from MD, following Paulo Gazzaniga’s concerning performance in Girona’s opening day La Liga defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano, the Blanquivermells have set their sights on Peña:
‘At Montilivi, his name is gaining more traction. The Catalan club already inquired about him in previous transfer markets and could now intensify negotiations.’
