As Jamie Gittens transfer to Chelsea appears imminent, Bild have since released a detailed report regarding the fees involved in the player’s departure from Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga side have rejected several approaches from Chelsea for Gittens, but the transfer now appears to be on the home straight. Bild report that the Englishman will join the Premier League side for ‘up to €65m’ after the FIFA Club World Cup, but the transfer fee includes ‘easily achievable’ bonuses, such as making a certain number of appearances.
The €65m fee can then be broken should Chelsea meet the more difficult-to-achieve criteria, which is usually tied to winning a major title, or the player being names World Player of the Year.
With Gittens’ departure to Chelsea imminent, it’s likely that Borussia Dortmund will leave the player out of their squad as to avoid the Englishman picking up any injuries.
