Florian Neuhaus has been fined and will spend the next four weeks training with Gladbach’s U23 team after being filmed criticizing club boss Roland Virkus.

Borussia Mönchengladbach have punished Florian Neuhaus after the midfielder appeared in a video on social media criticizing club boss Roland Virkus.

In a statement on Wednesday, Die Fohlen announced that Neuhaus has been handed a “substantial” fine and will train with the club’s U23 team instead of the Bundesliga squad for the next four weeks.

“Florian Neuhaus’ behavior and statements are damaging to the club and unacceptable,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach CEO Dr. Stefan Stegemann.

“With his words, he has harmed the club and deeply disappointed those involved. This is not compatible with the values of the club.”

In the video, reportedly recorded on Mallorca, Neuhaus is seen speaking with a group of Gladbach fans about his multi-million-euro salary.

“He is the worst manager in the world. ‘Don Rollo’ gives Florian Neuhaus one, two, three, four million euros,” Neuhaus is heard saying, referring to Borussia Mönchengladbach’s managing director for sport, Roland Virkus.

The central midfielder is coming off a difficult 2024/25 season, during which he made just two league starts.
