Per Bild, Anthony Modeste’s transfer to Dortmund means that his contract to become a coach at Köln is no longer valid.

In his contract, Anthony Modeste was set to become an offensive coach for Köln once his playing days were over. However, due to his arrival at BVB, this clause is no longer an option. At 34-years-old, it’s clear that Modeste is prioritizing Champions League football over Köln at this stage in his career.
While the position is not highly compensated, this would have allowed Modeste to continue helping the Billy Goats after retirement. Modeste is set to join Dortmund for the season on a €5 million fee, earning him up to €6 million.
