Serie A side Milan midfielder Adrien Rabiot voiced his opinion on Serie A and UEFA’s decision to play the Milan-Como match in Australia.
Speaking to the press (via Gianluca Di Marzio), Rabiot claimed that it was “totally crazy” to play Milan’s match against Como in Australia as part of the Serie A’s visibility extension reasons.
The fixture is scheduled for the weekend of February 7-8 and is to be staged in Perth, Australia. On the distance to be travelled by the team for one league outing on a neutral venue, the Frenchman commented: “It’s crazy to travel so many miles to play a match between two Italian teams in Australia. But we have to adapt. As always.”
UEFA has allowed this fixture and the Villarreal-Barcelona match from LaLiga to be played outside of their domestic venues, but the governing body has also claimed that these are exceptions and the decision is not to be taken forward as setting a precedent.
