The battle for Italy’s emerging young talent is heating up, with both AC Milan and Juventus keen on securing the services of Atalanta full-back Marco Palestra, currently impressing on loan at Cagliari.
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 21-year-old right-back has emerged as one of the key protagonists of the current Serie A season, drawing attention from Italy’s biggest clubs as they look to reinforce their squads.
Palestra, who is owned by Atalanta and developing well during his spell with Cagliari, is one of several talents around whom “eye-watering figures” are starting to circulate, indicating that transfer negotiations have already begun. Clubs in Europe have extensively scouted him already.
Both Milan and Juventus are actively tracking the young defender, suggesting a potential high-profile transfer saga for the player once his loan deal concludes. There is also interest from some Premier League clubs.
