According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, FC Metz’s Georges Mikautadze (22) is set to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Ajax.
Metz would have been dreaming of retaining Mikautadze with the final days of the transfer window approaching. His departure had been anticipated during the club’s presentation to the DNCG earlier this summer, whilst according to L’Équipe, the striker’s departure video has been sitting in drafts for weeks. However, the Ligue 1 side were hoping to retain the Georgian International, who has replicated his Ligue 2 form in the opening matchday of the Ligue 1 season. He scored the winning goal against Clermont Foot on Sunday.
That winner now looks set to be a parting gift. Mikautadze has been courted across Europe throughout the summer, but according to Toubache-Ter, he now looks set to join Ajax. The Metz forward is set to undergo his medical tomorrow ahead of a move to the Eredivisie side.
