Barcelona summer signing Marcus Rashford has this week opened up on some of the early challenges he has faced, since arriving in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes ahead of a potential competitive debut for the Englishman in Barcelona’s season opener against RCD Mallorca this coming weekend.
Frontman Rashford of course put pen to paper on a year-long loan deal at the Camp Nou last month.
The 27-year-old has spent the time since working towards integrating himself into Hansi Flick’s squad, a major step up for a player whose career had previously appeared to be getting away from him.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Rest is Football’ podcast this week, Rashford was therefore drawn on some of the challenges which he has faced to date in Spain.
And the on-loan Manchester United man went on to highlight the ‘more complex’ training sessions in his response:
“Here, it is very intense. It is difficult to explain, but the pre-season has been difficult; I was tired after every workout, and the weather also played a role.
“Running is not difficult; it is more about practising with the ball and maintaining a consistent level. In this sense, the intensity is more complex.”
