Serie A champions Napoli are keen on making a late signing and it could be Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, as they come close to landing Eljif Elmas and Rasmus Hojlund.
Il Mattino report, via AreaNapoli today that with the English press talking about the Englishman considering an exit from Old Trafford, Napoli are keeping an eye on Mainoo’s situation.
Antonio Conte’s side have made initial contact to know about the 20-year-old situation and have been informed that Manchester United want over €50 million for the midfielder’s sale. That demand is indeed excessive for Napoli but they will keep an eye on the situation and make a formal move, if an opportunity emerges.
Mainoo has not played a single minute in the Premier League this season and has been on the bench in both games under Ruben Amorim.
With the World Cup approaching next year, he wants game time and leaving Manchester United can hand him that game time.
