Manchester City FC have named their price for Switzerland international centre-back Manuel Akanji (30), according to Foot Mercato. The former Borussia Dortmund defender is a priority signing for Türkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray, who have reportedly submitted him a contractual bid. Akanji joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund three years ago. His contract with Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens expires in 2027.
Akanji is expected to leave Manchester City this summer. The Switzerland international was an unused substitute during City’s Premier League opening day filleting of Wolves (0-4). Ruben Dias and John Stones started at Molineux. Foot Mercato understands that Galatasaray have submitted a £15m transfer bid to sign Akanji. There is currently a £3m gap in valuation between the two clubs as City would command a £18m package to part ways with Akanji. Talks are expected to continue tomorrow between all parties.
