According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Jadon Sancho has declined AS Roma’s latest proposal, communicating through his agent that he wishes to explore interest from other clubs.
This development comes as a setback for the Italian side, who had been positioned to secure a deal after Manchester United indicated they were ready to accept £20 million.
Sancho’s reluctance to accept Roma’s offer stems not from the fee, which United deemed acceptable, but from personal terms and career direction issues.
Sources suggest that contractual details could not be agreed, prompting him to put the move on hold.
Man United star Jadon Sancho is undecided over his future
Instead, he is keeping his options open, refusing to commit until he assesses all interested parties.
While Roma may have been the front-runners, other clubs across Europe are monitoring Sancho’s situation. Transfers like Besiktas were discussed, but talks have stalled as of now.
United now await formal offers, ideally in the £20 million range, as they aim to offload Sancho ahead of the window’s closure in less than two weeks.
Sancho’s United career has failed to live up to the hype. The winger had a public fall out with former United manager Erik ten Hag.
At the start of last season, he was sent on loan to Chelsea where he failed to find consistency. He managed to win the Conference League with the Blues and they even considered signing him in a permanent move but his wage demands proved too much for the Blues hierarchy to accept.
Red Devils ready to take massive loss on Sancho

Sancho was sent back to Man United, who are now desperate to offload him this summer.
This refusal creates a headache for Man United. They were prepared to move Sancho on, recovering part of their initial £73m investment, even at a significant loss.
Now, with the player holding out, United must balance patience with pragmatism, hoping more suitors step forward before the window slams shut.
