According to Kicker, 2. Bundesliga clubs such as Eintracht Braunschweig were nearing a move to sign Mainz forward Marlon Mustapha on loan in August. But, manager Bo Svensson decided to hold onto Mustapha, who impressed on loan at Austrian side Admira Wacker with 6 goals and 6 assists last year.
The 21-year-old is showing further development by taking advantage of his substitute appearances through the first two Matchdays. With Jonathan Burkardt out with injury, Mustapha has stepped up to consistently create chances on goal and looks to have inched ahead of competitor Delano Burgzorg on the depth chart.
Mustapha is supposed to be on loan in the second division. But, Mainz are realizing they have found themselves quite the attacking talent.
