According to consistent media reports, Fußball Transfers reports that Linton Maina the winger has been dropped by 1.FC Köln this weekend.
Head coach Lukas Kwasniok has supposedly given the winger the cut for the upcoming match against VfL Wolfsburg today at 3.30pm.
It has been a tough start to the campaign for the 26-year-old who didn’t feature in the first two matchdays due to knee problems.
So far, Köln’s top creator from the 2024/25 campaign has played just 68 minutes in the DFB Cup against Jahn Regensburg.
In recent months, Effzeh pushed for an extension of the dribbler’s expiring contract and even outplayed offers from Bundesliga rivals.
In addition to Maina, central defender Dominique Heintz and full-back Jusuf Gazibegovic will also miss out this afternoon.
The winter signing from Sturm Graz is also having a tough time this season, as has Heintz who spent both Bundesliga games in the stands.
