According to a report by Foot Mercato, Olympique Lyonnais have reached an agreement with Olympique de Marseille for Jordan Veretout (31). The midfielder is expected to arrive in Lyon this afternoon where he will undergo his medical.
Marseille had placed an €8 million asking price on the France international but eventually accepted a Lyon offer of €4 million with an additional €1 million guaranteed, and bonuses that could reach €2 million. Furthermore, Les Phocéens ensured that they would also have a 25% sell-on fee if Lyon were to move on from the midfielder.
Jordan Veretout deal still has some wrinkles
Despite Veretout already agreeing to a reduced wage with Lyon, there are some issues that the player needs to iron out with Marseille. Veretout has wanted Marseille to cover the loss in income that he would be taking in moving to their arch-rivals, while his current club have looked unwilling to meet his demands.
Lyon are attempting to force the transfer to go through ahead of the fast-approaching deadline tonight to register players for the Europa League.
