Olympique Lyonnais could start without a recognised No.9 when they host Toulouse FC on Sunday afternoon.
Paulo Fonseca could opt to deploy a 4-2-4, with two central players, none of whom you would consider traditional No.9s. Lyon captain Corentin Tolisso could be aligned alongside Khalis Merah in the most advanced central position, with Malick Fofana, from whom Fonseca has demanded more, on the left, and Adam Karabec on the right.
It would see Tanner Tessmann and Tyler Morton once again featuring in the double pivot. There are no fresh injury concerns for OL, who remain without goalkeeper Rémy Descamps, Abner, Orel Mangala, and Ernest Nuamah.
It means that Dominik Greif will continue in goal for Les Gones, behind the regular centre-back pairing of Clinton Mata and Moussa Niakhaté.
