Luxembourg head coach hopes St. Pauli’s Danel Sinani can serve as a game changer against Germany

Despite the fact that German national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann warned against underestimating them, Germany ended up making short work of Jeff Strasser’s Luxembourg during the October international break. Nagelsmann’s team easily cruised to a 4-0 win at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim. Might an out-of-form Bundesliga professional be able to shake matters up tomorrow?

The fact that the DFB-XI were easily aided by an early red card certainly helped matters. So too did the fact that one of Strasser’s key players – St. Pauli pivot man Danel Sinani – had to sit out on an accumulated yellow card suspension. Strasser, an experienced Bundesliga pro in his own right, expressed the hope that Sinani might make a difference against Germany on Friday.

Sinani himself hasn’t been in the greatest form for club lately, sharply dipping for the Kiezkicker after an electrifying start to the season. The 27-year-old hasn’t gotten his name on the scoresheet since the third match day and recently lost his starting place in head coach Aleander Blessin’s XI. Sinani still declared himself exited at the prospect of “playing some tricks” on his Bundesliga colleagues ahead of the forthcoming match.

Having a player like Danel with his technical skills is definitely an advantage for us,” Strasser added at his Thursday press conference.
