Liverpool Working to Close Deal to Sign £50m ‘Superstar’

Liverpool are working to close a deal for the signing of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to a report from Fichajes.

Adding another centre-back could be next on the agenda for Liverpool after a busy summer transfer window so far. Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong are all confirmed arrivals for the Merseyside club, but Arne Slot’s side don’t appear ready to stop there and are in the market for further reinforcements in the coming weeks.

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike could be the next player to sign on the dotted line at Anfield, with the French striker already in the UK ahead of completing his medical. Despite winning the Premier League title during the 2024/2025 season, Liverpool aren’t messing around in the market and clearly want to add more trophies to their collection next term.

The report claims that Liverpool are ‘not stopping’ in the window, with the Merseyside club not content with the signings they’ve already made this summer. Guehi would favour a move to Liverpool, despite interest from other clubs in the Premier League this summer.

Guehi, described as a ‘superstar’ by Steve Parish, has become an established Premier League defender in recent years and a key player for Palace. The English centre-back is still only 25 years old, so he has plenty of room to grow and is undoubtedly ready to make the step up to a side competing for the Premier League title and in the Champions League.
