Liverpool receive boost in Milos Kerkez pursuit with Bournemouth set to announce his replacement

Liverpool have received a huge boost in their pursuit for Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez.

The Cherries are reportedly set to complete a transfer for Rennes star Adrien Truffert, which will pave the way for Kerkez’s move to Anfield.

According to Benjamin Quarez, Truffert has completed a medical and is poised to sign a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium.

Liverpool have been chasing a move for Kerkez to bolster their ranks in defence.

The 21-year-old joined Bournemouth in the summer of 2023 and has adapted instantly to life in England.

He has made 74 appearances across all competitions, with two goals and eight assists to his name.

The Hungary international played a pivotal role in helping his side secure a ninth-place Premier League finish last season, averaging 1.4 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 4.4 ball recoveries and 2.6 clearances per game.

Kerkez has three years left on his current contract but Bournemouth are ready to sell him for £45 million.

Agreement on personal terms is not expected to be difficult as the defender is understood to be keen on joining Liverpool.

However, Kerkez’s move has fueled speculation surrounding Andy Roberton’s future at Anfield.

The Scotland international has been their first-choice left-back over the years, but he may no longer be an undisputed starter for next season.

Robertson’s situation has alerted Atletico Madrid, who have identified him as their top target at left-back this summer.
