Liverpool are growing confident they will be able to agree a fee with Crystal Palace for defender Marc Guehi’s arrival, insider Dave OCKOP has revealed.
The Premier League winners are eyeing defensive reinforcements following their £186m June spree and have identified Guehi as a potential addition to Arne Slot’s backline.
The Reds are close to parting ways with academy graduate Jarell Quansah and are eager to bring in a replacement, with Guehi now emerging as a front-runner to join after positive talks.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue for the ‘world-class’ England international’s arrival, as Guehi is fully behind the move with a year left on his Selhurst Park contract.

According to Dave OCKOP, there is growing confidence Liverpool will agree a fee with Palace for Guehi to join this summer rather than on a free transfer in 12 months’ time.
While they could still face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle, positive talks have intensified in recent weeks, with direct contact established among all three parties.
Palace were reluctant to sell Guehi in the past two transfer windows and rejected approaches from Tottenham and Newcastle, whose offers fell short of their valuation.
They are now in a slightly weaker negotiating position, as Guehi has just one season left on his contract and appears inclined to depart for a new challenge.
Liverpool are the Premier League’s top spending club this summer, having splashed out significantly on the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.
As well as a new centre-back, the Reds are also believed to be eyeing a striker, with Eintracht Frankfurt ace Hugo Ekitike among their potential targets.
