RB Leipzig have ramped up talks with Premier League side Chelsea to reunite with France international striker Christopher Nkunku (27), according to The Athletic. The 27-year-old is not expected to stick around at Stamford Bridge for what would be a third season in a row in London. Chelsea signed Nkunku from RB Leipzig on a six-year deal over a reported €60m transfer fee. Now, Nkunku could be on his way back to the Red Bull Arena.
The outlet adds that club-to-club talks between Leipzig and Chelsea revolve around a permanent deal with Nkunku said to be interested in returning to Eastern Germany. Leipzig and Chelsea are reportedly not close to reaching an agreement over Nkunku as the France international is a man in demand this summer. Inter Milan and Bayern Munich have both shown an interest in the wantaway Chelsea striker.
