Leicester City are exploring a late move for Rennes midfielder Jordan James (21), as per Le Parisien. The Wales international has joined Les Rouge et Noir last year from formative club Birmingham City. However, he is expected to leave Brittany after only one season as Rennes head coach Habib Beye doesn’t necessarily see him as vital to his plans. James has yet to feature for the Ligue 1 side this campaign.
James was an unused substitute during Rennes’ opening 1-0 home win against Marseille and was not part of Beye’s travelling squad at Lorient last week. James, who was a target earlier in the window for Parma and promoted Championship side Wrexham, is heavily courted by Leicester City. The Foxes are in talks with Rennes to find an agreement over James’ transfer to the King Power Stadium.
