LaLiga 2024/25 matchday 10 predicted lineups

The Spanish top flight returns from the international break with a full fixture list over the next four days. Barcelona and Real Madrid play their final league games before next weekend’s Clasico, while Girona face Real Sociedad in perhaps the pick of the weekend fixtures. Here are our LaLiga predicted lineups for matchday 10, featuring all the clubs in action this weekend.

LaLiga predicted lineups – Matchday 10

Friday 18th October 2024

21:00 – Alaves vs Real Valladolid

Alaves have lost their last three after a bright start, and while two of those games were against Real Madrid and Barcelona, Luis Garcia is still prone to shaking things up so changes seem probable here. Moussa Diarra and Joan Jordan are both strong candidates to come into the eleven, while Kike Garcia is pushing for Toni Martinez’s place in attack. Aleksandar Sedlar is still out.

Alaves predicted lineup: Sivera – Sanchez, Diarra, Abqar, Tenaglia – Jordan, Guevara – Stoichkov, Guridi, Vicente – Martinez (4-2-3-1)

Real Valladolid haven’t won since the opening day of the season and they look comfortably one of the worst three teams in the division at this point. Paulo Pezzolano is feeling the heat, but he doesn’t have a great deal of exciting options to mix things up here. He’s also missing Lucas Rosa to suspension, while Cenk Ozkacar, Marcos Andre and Cesar de la Hoz are injured.

Real Valladolid predicted lineup: Hein – Torres, Juma Bah, Comert, L. Perez – Amallah, Martin, K. Perez – Moro, Latasa, Amath (4-3-3)

Saturday 19th October 2024

14:00 – Athletic Club vs Espanyol

Nico Williams missed the internationals with Spain, but is expected to be fit to play this weekend for his club. Athletic’s top scorer Oihan Sancet has been ruled out with an injury though, while Aitor Paredes is suspended after seeing red late in a bizarre match that saw the Basques miss three penalties at Girona last time out. Unai Gomez and Unai Nuñez are the players most likely to benefit from those absentees, although Yeray is fit again and is an alternative option in central defence. Julen Agirrezabala will return in goal after missing the last match due to suspension. Ernesto Valverde may consider resting Iñaki Williams following his involvement in AFCON qualifiers over the past week.

Athletic Club predicted lineup: Agirrezabala – Yuri, Nuñez, Vivian, De Marcos – Prados, Ruiz de Galarreta – Nico Williams, Unai Gomez, Berenguer – Guruzeta (4-2-3-1)

Espanyol are perhaps a bit fortunate to have won as many as three matches so far this season, but their victory over in-form Mallorca last time out was a real boost, particularly with Javi Puado absent. The forward remains an injury doubt here, but Leandro Cabrera is fit again and could start in defence in what may be the only change.

Espanyol predicted lineup: Joan Garcia – Romero, Cabrera, Kumbulla, El Hilali – Gragera, Kral, Lozano – Cardona, Veliz, Carreras (4-3-3)

16:15 – Osasuna vs Real Betis

It’s 13 points from a possible 15 at home so far this season for Osasuna, so there’s little reason for Vicente Moreno to mix up the playbook. He could name an unchanged eleven from the draw at Getafe with no fresh injury concerns, although Jon Moncayola is a candidate to come in for Pablo Ibañez in midfield.

Osasuna predicted lineup: Herrera – Bretones, Boyomo, Catena, Areso – Torro, Ibañez – Bryan Zaragoza, Oroz, Ruben Garcia – Budimir (4-2-3-1)

Betis were really disappointing in the Seville derby last time out and they’ve been dealt a fresh blow with Giovani Lo Celso, the only player who has scored for them in their last five league matches, picking up an injury that will rule him out until November. Pablo Fornals may operate as the number 10 here as a result while either Aitor Ruibal or Chimy Avila should come into the side on the right flank.

Real Betis predicted lineup: Silva – Perraud, Natan, Llorente, Bellerin – Cardoso, Altimira – Abde, Fornals, Chimy – Roque (4-2-3-1)

18:30 – Girona vs Real Sociedad

Paulo Gazzaniga saved three penalties as Girona picked up a much needed win last time out. With the likes of Daley Blind, Oriol Romeu and Viktor Tysgankov still out injured, an unchanged eleven is very possible here, although Michel may have one eye on a must-win Champions League clash with Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday. Bryan Gil could potentially come into the side if passed fit, but he remains a significant doubt heading into the weekend.

Girona predicted lineup: Gazzaniga – Miguel Gutierrez, Krejci, David Lopez, Arnau – Martin, Herrera – Danjuma, Van de Beek, Asprilla – Ruiz (4-2-3-1)

While Imanol has rotated heavily during weeks with midweek action, it does feel like we’re starting to see a clearer best XI, or something close to it, emerge at Real Sociedad. Nayef Aguerd, Luka Sucic and Sergio Gomez are the new signings who look to be in it and we should see the visiting boss go as strong as possible here. La Real impressed against Atletico Madrid last time out and it should be a similar lineup this weekend, although Brais Mendez ought to come into the midfield.

Real Sociedad predicted lineup: Remiro – Javi Lopez, Aguerd, Zubeldia, Aramburu – Brais Mendez, Zubimendi, Sucic – Sergio Gomez, Oyarzabal, Kubo (4-3-3)

21:00 – Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid

Claudio Giraldez is doing a fine job at Celta, with his win ratio just shy of 50% since he took charge in March. The Galicians face a tough task this weekend though, as they take on the European champions without the suspended Iago Aspas. Ilaix Moriba is also banned after also seeing red at Las Palmas last time out, a fixture Celta miraculously won with nine players. Giraldez is prone to chopping and changing even after victories though, so there’s perhaps only Vicente Guaita, Hugo Alvarez and Oscar Mingueza who look absolutely guaranteed of their place in the eleven to face Los Blancos.

Celta Vigo predicted lineup: Guaita – Alonso, Starfelt, Manquillo – Alvarez, Beltran, Damian Rodriguez, Mingueza – Swedberg, Bamba – Iglesias (3-4-2-1)

Carlo Ancelotti will have one eye on games against Dortmund and Barcelona over the next week, but it hasn’t been as busy an international break for some of his stars as might have been the case. Kylian Mbappe, Eder Militao and Vinicius Junior are among those not to feature for their countries so should come into this fully rested. Aurelien Tchouameni did start both games for France and is a more obvious candidate for a rest here, with Eduardo Camavinga potentially getting another start in midfield. Dani Carvajal is out for the season, so Lucas Vazquez can expect a long run of games at right-back, while Thibaut Courtois should be fit to return in goal.

Real Madrid predicted lineup: Courtois – Mendy, Militao, Rudiger, Vazquez – Valverde, Camavinga, Bellingham – Vinicius, Mbappe, Rodrygo (4-3-3)

Sunday 20th October 2024

14:00 – Mallorca vs Rayo Vallecano

Mallorca’s run of three straight away wins came to an end with a slightly unfortunate defeat at Espanyol last time out. They have striker Vedat Muriqi fit again now, but it’s unclear whether he’ll instantly regain his place given the team’s impressive form. Martin Valjent should return in defence with Jose Manuel Copete likely to drop out. Takuma Asano is still out injured.

Mallorca predicted lineup: Greif – Mojica, Raillo, Valjent, Maffeo – Mascarell, Costa – Dani Rodriguez, Darder, Navarro – Larin (4-2-3-1)

Along with Mallorca, Rayo have been one of the surprise packages of the season so far and they were winners last time out on the road in Valladolid. It could be an unchanged eleven here, unless Iñigo Perez despites he needs something different in this fixture. Alvaro Garcia and Pathe Ciss are perhaps the most likely options should he opt to change anything, while Pep Chavarria is nearing fitness which could bring Ivan Balliu’s place into the side into some doubt.

Rayo Vallecano predicted lineup: Batalla – Balliu, Mumin, Lejeune, Ratiu – Unai Lopez, Valentin – Embarba, Isi Palazon, De Frutos – Camello (4-2-3-1)

16:15 – Atletico Madrid vs Leganes

Atleti headed into the international break in pretty uninspiring fashion with two poor away performances against Benfica and Real Sociedad. Regulars Robin Le Normand and Marcos Llorente are out injured here and we may also see Diego Simeone rest some of his South American internationals with bigger tests to come over the next week. Javi Galan looks to be finally in favour on the left flank and could potentially keep his place.

Atletico Madrid predicted lineup: Oblak – Lenglet, Gimenez, Witsel – Galan, Gallagher, Koke, Barrios, Molina – Griezmann, Sorloth (3-5-2)

Leganes have drawn their last three and shown enough defensively to suggest they can at least frustrate their big city neighbours. Borja Jimenez is another LaLiga boss who has at times made unexpected changes, but we should see a fair degree of stability following the goalless draw a fortnight ago. Sebastien Haller is a slight fitness concern, but may still be preferred to Miguel de la Fuente in attack.

Leganes predicted lineup: Dmitrovic – Javi Hernandez, Sergio Gonzalez, Saenz, Rosier – Neyou, Cisse – Altimira, Roberto Lopez, Cruz – Haller (4-2-3-1)

18:30 – Villarreal vs Getafe

There’s a great deal of uncertainty at Villarreal right now with nine players carrying injuries, but most of those are expected to return either this weekend or in time for the trip to Valladolid next Saturday. Marcelino will therefore likely leave it until late before settling on an eleven for this one. At the back, things will depend on whether Logan Costa or Raul Albiol can shake off their issues in time to feature. Forwards Gerard Moreno and Ayoze Perez are also close to fitness and could feature off the bench if their recovery progresses over the next two days.

Villarreal predicted lineup: Conde – Cardona, Costa, Bailly, Femenia – Baena, Parejo, Comesaña, Ilias – Barry, Pepe (4-4-2)

Things have looked pretty solid defensively for Getafe who have only let in seven goals in nine matches this term, so we should see at least an unchanged back four here and it may be the same eleven that drew with Osasuna last time out. Striker Bertug Yildirim scored in that game which may further delay Borja Mayoral’s return to the starting eleven after his long-term injury absence.

Getafe predicted lineup: Soria – Rico, Alderete, Berrocal, Djene – Sola, Arambarri, Milla, Perez – Uche – Yildirim (4-4-1-1)

21:00 – Barcelona vs Sevilla

Barcelona face Bayern on Wednesday in the Champions League and Real Madrid next Saturday in El Clasico at the Bernabeu which may have an impact on Hansi Flick’s team selection here. Lamine Yamal withdrew from the Spain camp after one game with a minor hamstring issue and it’s possible he won’t be risked from the off, while one of Pedri or Raphinha could also potentially be rested after busy international breaks. Dani Olmo, Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez are fit again but may not be considered ready to start. Iñaki Peña was expected to start in goal, but some local media reports on Thursday point towards Wojciech Szczesny potentially getting the nod instead.

Barcelona predicted lineup: Szczesny – Balde, Martinez, Cubarsi, Kounde – Eric Garcia, Casado – Raphinha, Pedri, Victor – Lewandowski (4-2-3-1)

It felt like Garcia Pimienta’s reign as Sevilla boss truly got lift-off last time out with a derby win over Betis. That gives the Andalusians something to build from, but there’ll be at least one change here after Tanguy Nianzou saw red in that match. Marcao is most likely to replace him, but other changes should be kept to a minimum.

Sevilla predicted lineup: Nyland – Pedrosa, Marcao, Bade, Carmona – Gudelj, Agoume – Ejuke, Peque, Lukebakio – Romero (4-2-3-1)

Monday 21st October 2024

21:00 – Valencia vs Las Palmas

Ruben Baraja used a back five in the stalemate at Leganes last time out, but may revert to a four here. Sergi Canos was preferred to Diego Lopez at Butarque, so it’s likely to be a close fight between the two. There’s also a big boost for Valencia with captain Jose Luis Gaya fit again, but he may not be ready to start this game after a lengthy absence.

Valencia predicted lineup: Mamardashvili – Gasiorowski, Tarrega, Mosquera, Correia – Pepelu, Guerra – Rioja, Almeida, Canos – Duro (4-2-3-1)

It’s all change at Las Palmas with former Granada boss Diego Martinez replacing Luis Carrion. It feels like a positive appointment given the work the 43-year-old previously did at Los Carmenes, but he has a really tough job on his hands in Gran Canaria. There is at least good news on the injury front for LaLiga’s bottom club with Jasper Cillessen and Mika Marmol fit again and potentially in a position to start this game.

Las Palmas predicted lineup: Cillessen – Alex Muñoz, Marmol, McKenna, Rozada – Kirian, Essugo – Sandro, Moleiro, Januzaj – McBurnie (4-2-3-1)
