In an interview with Argentine newspaper Olé, La Liga president Javier Tebas has confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé (25) will play for Real Madrid next season.
The France captain said goodbye to PSG on Sunday as he played his last game at the Parc des Princes for Les Parisiens against Toulouse. Following the Ligue 1 champions’ exit from the Champions League, Mbappé confirmed football’s worst-kept secret that he would be leaving the French capital club at the end of the season on a free transfer. However, he did not release details of who he would be signing for upon his exit.
Destination confirmed?
Despite the 25-year-old not explicitly revealing his next club, it is expected that Mbappé will make his long-anticipated move to Real Madrid at the end of his contract with the Ligue 1 club. La Liga boss Tebas has now confirmed this in his latest interview. Commenting on Mbappé’s next club, the La Liga president said, “He will be in Madrid next season, yes, yes.”
No official date for the announcement of the former Monaco forward’s move to the Santiago Bernabèu has been set. Nevertheless, it is likely to be after Real Madrid’s upcoming Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.
