Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé’s long-touted move to Spain with Real Madrid has this week taken a significant step forward.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has provided the latest on the situation late on Wednesday.
It has of course been common knowledge for some time now that Mbappé is all set to take his talents to Madrid this summer, having come to the decision not to renew his expiring terms with PSG.
Amid mounting excitement amongst the Real faithful, however, one thing has remained unclear throughout – just when will the latest Galáctico at last pull on the famed white of Los Merengues?
As alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, as much now looks closer than ever before.
This comes amid confirmation that the board at Paris Saint-Germain have finally given their counterparts at the Santiago Bernabéu permission to announce Mbappé’s signing.
With the 25-year-old technically contracted to the French champions through the end of June, they retained the right to reject Real Madrid’s pleas to unveil the attacker until the start of July.
However, as per Fabrizio Romano, this week, Florentino Pérez and co. were given the green light to move ahead with the announcement, as early as they see fit.
As much has therefore been pencilled in for early next month, between the Champions League final, and start of the European Championships.
