Kylian Mbappé closes door to joining Arsenal

The future of Kylian Mbappé (25) is still yet to be made official since the Frenchman communicated his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. 

It looks fairly certain that Mbappé will be joining Real Madrid once his contract expires, but until pen meets paper there will still be speculation over where the forward will end up. Premier League clubs wanted to try and sway the player into taking his talents north of the Channel rather than from his likely destination. 

In February, Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta opened the door to the Premier League club entering the race to sign the star. The manager stated, “When there is a player of this calibre, we always have to be in the conversation.” It seemed unlikely at the time and any lingering hope was firmly ended. 

It appears the conversation never looked likely from the start when a fan asked Mbappé if he would join Arsenal. The player laughed and responded, “There’s no way.” When asked why, Mbappé joked, “It’s too cold there.”
