Bayern Munich rolled over Hamburger SV at the Allianz Arena on Saturday evening, thrashing the newly-promoted side 5-0.
Unsurprisingly, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was delighted with what he saw.
“We kept a clean sheet and scored five goals – that was strong. The atmosphere in the stadium was simply fantastic. It almost had a bit of an Oktoberfest vibe and was really fun,” said Kompany after the game.
Bayern started out strongly, racing into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 10 minutes.
“We got off to a good start, which always helps. In the first half everything clicked, in the second we maybe could have done a bit more. But we played sensibly, controlled the game, and added another goal.
“In the end it’s a very good result. You can tell that we’re understanding each other better and better, many routines are there now. We’ve worked hard for our wins so far, so they’re well deserved.”
