Almost everything went according to plan for Germany as they thrashed Bosnia-Herzegovina 7-0 in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday.
Joshua Kimmich picked up a knock in the second half and had to be substituted, which was a thorn in the side of Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann and his team.
But as both Kimmich and Nagelsmann stressed after the game, the injury isn’t serious.
“It was a precautionary measure. If the score hadn’t been 6-0, I wouldn’t have gone off. I want to play again in Hungary,” Kimmich told Bild with a view to Tuesday’s game in Budapest.
Speaking to RTL, Nagelsmann also allayed fears that the Bayern Munich star had suffered a serious injury.
“With Josh, we don’t think it’s that bad. The doctor said he was lucky,” Nagelsmann said.
