Karim Benzema spoke to the European Sports Media (ESM) media who formed the jury that, along with the 96 Champions League, Europa League and Conference coaches, voted him UEFA’s Men’s Player of the Year.
The France international won 523 votes, to 122 for Kevin De Bruyne and 118 for Thibaut Courtois.
“Now at 34 I’m better, I play better. It’s true that on a personal level this was the best season of my career, but one thing hasn’t changed: I go on the pitch thinking about what I have to do to win the game, I think about the team, not myself.”
