Juventus are accelerating their negotiations to sign Lille winger Edon Zhegrova (h/t La Gazzetta dello Sport).
Zhegrova’s contract expires next year, and he has informed Lille of his desire to move to a new club.
The Kosovan international has given his green light for a move to Juventus, who are now trying to finalise an agreement with the French club.
However, the Bianconeri are reluctant to pay his €25 million valuation, especially since he has only 12 months left in his deal.
They want to reduce the transfer fee, but the deal hinges on Nico Gonzalez’s potential sale.
The Argentine winger is transfer-listed by the Bianconeri as he is not in manager Igor Tudor’s scheme of things.
Atletico Madrid are reportedly in pole position to sign Gonzalez, who is valued at €30 million.
Manager Diego Simeone is pushing to add Gonzalez to the Argentine contingent at Atletico, which consists of Julian Alvarez, Thiago Almada, Nahuel Molina and Giuliano Simeone.
Zhegrova is ready for the next big step in his career after rapidly growing into one of the standout talents in Ligue 1 over the last two years.
He has racked up 26 goals and 18 assists for Les Dogues, and his stellar progress was curtailed by an adductor injury last season.
The left-footed winger is a dribbling phenomenon, highlighted by his 2.68 successful take-ons per game.
Adding to that, his athleticism, ball-striking prowess and defensive work rate often spell danger to the defenders.
He would have the opportunity to link up with his former Lille teammate Jonathan David, who moved to Turin on a free transfer earlier in this window.

Juventus are also keen on signing Randal Kolo Muani, but talks with Paris Saint-Germain have hit a stumbling block due to his hefty price tag.
