Juventus’ Paul Pogba undergoes reassuring medical tests following injury scare

In an official communiqué, Juventus have revealed that Paul Pogba (30) has undergone reassuring medical tests after the France international suffered an injury scare last week.

The 2022/23 season was almost a complete write-off for the former Manchester United midfielder. Having rejoined Juventus from the Premier League club, he was limited to just 161 minutes last season. Pogba is now slowly getting back up to speed after almost a year on the sidelines and has featured in two Serie A matches this season, accumulating 52 minutes of playing time.

Pogba put in a good performance off the bench against Empoli, but post-match, it was revealed that the Frenchman had felt pain behind his leg. Naturally, that led to fears of a relapse, however, Juventus have now revealed that there is no fresh injury, merely a “light over-working of the right thigh.”

The former Manchester United midfielder has not been called up for the upcoming France international matches against the Republic of Ireland and Germany and therefore has until 16th September, at which point Juventus face Lazio, to return to full fitness.
