Bayern Munich have today confirmed that both Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller have tested positive for Covid-19, are showing no symptoms, and are currently isolating at home.
Müller, who scored Bayern’s fourth against Bayer Leverkusen, and Joshua Kimmich, were both in Julian Nagelsmann’s starting XI on Friday evening.
Bayern’s 4-0 win against Gerardo Seoane’s B04 ended their run of four games without a win. Sadio Mané also found himself on the scoresheet, his first goal since matchday three, when he scored against Bochum in a 7-0 win.
They host Czech Republic champions Viktoria Plzeň in the Champions League on Tuesday evening (18:45CET) as they look to maintain their 100% record after wins over both Inter and Barcelona.
During the international break, Bayern duo Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka both tested positive for Covid-19 and withdrew from the Germany squad. Neuer started against Leverkusen and Goretzka replaced Marcel Sabitzer after 65 minutes.
