Jon Jones continues to troll his UFC rival Tom Aspinall

Jon Jones keeps mercilessly trolling Tom Aspinall after the UFC heavyweight champion’s recent performance against Ciryl Gane, a fighter the MMA GOAT dominated within a round when they fought in 2023.

Aspinall returned to the Octagon after a 15-month spell on the sideline atop the UFC 321 pay-per-view at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The British slugger, an interim title-holder, was promoted to full champion when Jones vacated the belt, preferring to retire rather than actually fight Aspinall himself.

It was Aspinall’s chance on Saturday to re-announce himself after that absence. But against Gane, he looked in trouble from the opening bell with Bon Gamin bloodying his nose early. A lingering finger shoved into both of Aspinall’s eyes then forced a No Contest as Tom kept telling the official that he couldn’t “f****** see”.

Hardly anyone has been sympathetic while Aspinall struggles to recover. Days after UFC boss Dana White seemed to shrug it all off by saying Aspinall didn’t want to continue in the Gane fight, Jones continues to apply public pressure, too.

Attending a midweek Dirty Boxing Championship event, which is an upstart striking-based promotion, Jones — a co-owner — arrived riding a horse with an eye-patch. The move is a clear jab at Aspinall, who continues to only experience blurred vision.

“I’m excited to be here. What’s up, Nashville, Tennessee? Gotta do it right. We got the beautiful horse with the eye-patch on, and we’re having a good night.”

It’s not the only thing Bones has done to mock Aspinall. Within hours of Aspinall’s performance at UFC 321, Jones tweaked his social media pfp from a rubber duck to one with an eye-patch.

A doctor with a significant YouTube following said on The Ariel Helwani Show earlier this week that, providing his “visual acuity clears up” soon, Aspinall should “be fine in a couple weeks” after Abu Dhabi doctors seemed to give him the all-clear after the fight.

But Aspinall is not fine, according to his dad/trainer Andy. This is because Tom “still can’t see” at all out of his right eye. “It’s not good,” he said. “One’s really, really blurry and one’s still not working.”
