Joe Rogan Comments on Conor McGregor’s UFC Future

The future of Conor McGregor in combat sports is up in the air. The Irish superstar hasn’t stepped foot inside the UFC Octagon in almost four years, and even though he was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last summer, he was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury, which pushed back plans for his comeback even further.

Many MMA fans, analysts and fighters have had their say on whether they believe ‘The Notorious’ will ever step back inside the UFC Octagon, and the latest MMA figure to give their two cents on the situation is UFC commentator Joe Rogan. Rogan recently shared his take on McGregor’s future in combat sports during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, where he was joined by Ilia Topuria.

Joe Rogan Thinks Conor McGregor’s Days in the UFC Are Over

The UFC commentator pinpointed partying and wealth as reasons why McGregor may never return

UFC commentator Joe Rogan shared his belief that Conor McGregor will never fight in the UFC again.

The Irishman last fought in the UFC at UFC 264 in 2021 and it doesn’t look like an Octagon return for ‘The Notorious’ is on the cards anytime soon. McGregor is regularly pictured on social media partying and living his life on yachts rather than in camp at a gym.

Rogan spoke about McGregor on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, where he was joined by Ilia Topuria, and made his stance on a potential return to the Octagon for McGregor very clear.

“No, I don’t think he comes back, because he hasn’t come back yet, and he could have. If he really wanted to, he would have been back in the gym, had a fight scheduled, drug tested, clean, training, gone through a camp, and had a fight.”

When further discussing McGregor, Rogan also pinpointed the Irishman’s wealth and partying antics as more reasons as to why he thinks a UFC return isn’t on the cards for him.

“Also partying, constant partying, all these legal problems that he has, scooting around on yachts, and driving around in a Lamborghini. He’s wealthy.”

While Rogan shares the same opinion as the majority of the MMA world regarding McGregor, it is intriguing to hear his opinion on the situation, as he has inside knowledge on things which go on in the UFC, so he may be more informed on his situation compared to others.
