La Liga president Javier Tebas said on Thursday that “nobody expected” that Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham would have five goals in his first four games with his new club.
“To be the best in the world you have to look at a number of seasons. Nobody expected him to score so many goals at this stage. They are the players who make the league better,” Tebas said in quotes picked up by Relevo, after presenting a report with the salary cap for La Liga clubs.
Real Madrid, in the same La Liga report, have a salary limit for their squad of €727m. “With that figure, they could pay for Kylian Mbappé and maybe others as well. I have the feeling that they have enough to do all of that,” admitted Tebas.

The president of La Liga also had a few words to say about FC Barcelona’s salary cap, which will be €270m for the season.
“Barcelona have made an effort to reduce their wage bill by a very large amount. We have to recognise the effort,” said Tebas.
