Jake Paul’s Viral Reaction After Charlie Kirk Was Shot Dead

Social media influencer-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, has issued a statement after the shooting of a conservative activist. Charlie Kirk was at Utah Valley University on Wednesday to conduct his American Comeback Tour when the shooting occurred during a student question-and-answer session.

Soon after, university officials confirmed that a single shot was fired from approximately 200 yards away from the Losee Center campus building. It was initially reported that a suspect was in custody. However, conflicting reports later emerged about the arrest status.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck during the speaking event in Orem, Utah. He was rushed to Timpanogos Valley Hospital, but it was soon reported he had passed away.

FBI Director, Kash Patel, announced that federal authorities were “closely monitoring” the incident, and confirmed that it was agents that responded to the scene. Spencer Cox, the Utah Governor, decried the attack, saying: “Those responsible will be held fully accountable. Violence has no place in our public life.”

Reaction to Charlie Kirk Shooting

Jake Paul

Jake Paul took to social media platform X on Wednesday evening suggesting that Kirk ws killed for telling the truth. He said: “Charlie Kirk got shot for telling the truth. That is literally it. What a mentally sick time we are living through. We need God more than ever. Praying for Charlie’s family and praying for these evil people to heal.”

The 31-year-old Kirk was an ally of Donald Trump, and the US President took to Truth Social to say: “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” While JD Vance, the Vice President, posted: “Say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuinely good guy and a young father.”

It wasn’t just those who agreed with Kirk and Trump’s ideologies who spoke out after the shooting. Gavin Newsom, the California Governor, has never really seen eye to eye with either of them, but came out calling the attack “disgusting, vile, and reprehensible,” while stating that “we must reject political violence in EVERY form.”

Moments before the shooting happened, Kirk posted on social media claiming: “WE. ARE. SO. BACK. Utah Vallet University is FIRED UP and READY for the first stop back on the American Comeback Tour.”

The incident is the latest of many shootings aimed at public figures over the past few years, including two separate attempts to assassinate US President Trump in 2024.
