Jadon Sancho unlikely to join Borussia Dortmund in January

It had previously been reported that Borussia Dortmund were open to offering Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho a route away from Old Trafford. However, according to Florian Plettenberg, a move for the Englishman is now unlikely.

Sancho is still planning a restart in the winter away from Manchester United. Nevertheless, at the moment, the Westfalenstadion is not a realistic destination.

The 23-year-old is more likely to find game time away from the Premier League, and Juventus are in pole position to land his signature. The Italian side are looking to sign Sancho on loan before offering the winger a permanent contract.

This has also meant that Barcelona have also fallen out of contention in their attempts to land the 23-year-old. However, whether Edin Terzić and Dortmund would benefit from having Sancho return to the club would be up for debate.

While adding attacking reinforcement would certainly not hinder Die Schwarzgelben, as they continue their hunt for the Meisterschale, the baggage Sancho currently carries could hinder a side that have so far this season shown how reliant they are on working as a collective. Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl may not consider it worthwhile adding a player to the squad that could disturb the trajectory of the club.
